  • What is a break in insurance case?

    Break in case refers to those vehicles which doesn’t have a valid insurance. If the previous insurance policy has lapsed then its called a break in case, there will be cases where there won’t be any previous policy also.

  • Whether a VLE can issue a policy for the vehicle which doesn’t have any previous insurance policy?

    Yes, policy can be issued for such cases, but vehicle has to be brought to the VLE point along with RC copy.

  • Is chassis imprint mandatory for break in cases?

    No, chassis imprint is not mandatory

  • Will the premium change with respective to age of the vehicle?

    No, premium wont change with the age of the vehicle but it depends on the category of vehicle and engine capacity within each category. A premium chart will be provided for your readymade reference of premium.

  • Can a VLE renew the policy of other insurance companies or he can renew only policies of HDFC ERGO?

    A VLE can renew policies of any insurance company, may the previous policy be of any pvt sector or govt sector company, a VLE can renew the same at his center through CSC portal

  • How will a VLE receive the commission and on what interval?

    VLE will receive the Transaction Fee instantly.

  • How can a VLE collect premium from the customers?

    VLE can collect premium by cash from customers but while issuing policy the premium will be deducted from the e wallet, hence the e wallet has to be recharged with sufficient balance before policy issuance.

  • Can a VLE issuance policy through any other means other than CSC portal?

    No, a VLE can issue a policy only through the CSC portal, that too after becoming a RAP.

  • Before how many days we can issue a policy?

    We can issue a policy before 90 days of policy expiry For example if policy expires on October 15th, you can issue a policy after August 15th. New policy start date will be next day of the existing policy date.

  • What would be policy start day if it is a break in case?

    If policy is break in then the policy start date will be next date of policy issue date.

  • Is there any coverage for owner and driver?

    Yes, there is coverage for owner and driver, (1 lac coverage for two wheeler and 2 lacs for other vehicles)

    You cannot take an independent policy for a 3 year old. Children below 5 years are covered only when both the parents are covered under the policy

  • Does my policy covers diagnostic charges?

    Most pre hospitalization and post hospitalization expenses (up to 60 days) are  covered under the policy, such as X - rays, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound nursing, physicians, medicines , other diagnostic needs. After successful completion of 4 claim-free year, you are eligible for free health check-up as well. This is subject to no medical adversities.

  • Can I cancel my policy mid-duration?

    Most insurance plans have a 15 day cooling off period called as free-look period during which you can cancel your policy. However, in case you wish to cancel the policy mid-term then you need to provide a suitable reason for cancellation. Premium refund is subject to nil claims & as per the refund chart mentioned in the policy wordings.

    In case of the death of primary insurer, the other adult person may continue with the policy and the sum insured will remain the same.

    From the time the transfer of ownership becomes effective, the policy stands cancelled & the insured ceases to be an insured under the policy. We will then refund the premium for the balance insured period.
